The importance of insurance

I do not want to sound like a naggy or pushy insurance saleswoman (though I was an insurance agent for a year before I decided I do not have the patience for this), just one overseas trip and a forgetful mind to buy travel insurance make me realize the importance of insurance in general.

I went to Koh Samui with my girlfriend (read: photos will be uploaded soon) the week before Xmas, and the impatient me decided to jump off from the boat barefooted, fractured my ankle bone badly, went on cast, followed my surgery for a metal plate; and was hoping insurance will cover the costs both overseas and local.

Thankfully, the insurance my mum bought for me do cover for overseas medical bills, which prompted me to find out what other insurance I can purchase for myself, since I would lead an active lifestyle, and that I am still in remission (with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma), I will not be able to get many life insurance policies.

So really, if you can afford even $5/day, a term insurance is better than none. One can never predict the future events, some help is better than no help at all!!!! Be thankful you are healthy and fit. We never know when illness and accidents may occur.

I will share more about insurance as part of financial planning as I go along.

Till then, MERRY CHRISTMAS and hope you are having a warm and fuzzy day.
